Biker killed in crash with car in Sitiawan


IPOH: A man has been killed after he was thrown from his motorcycle after colliding with a car at Taman Nesa, Sungai Wangi, near Sitiawan.

Perak Fire and Rescue Department acting assistant director of operations Shazlean Mohd Hanafiah said they received a call at 7.34pm on Sunday (Sept 21) and dispatched a team from the Sitiawan Fire and Rescue Station.

"The man, in his 50s, was flung from his motorcycle and hit a fence post, while the driver was not at the scene when firefighters arrived," he said in a statement on Sunday night.

Shazlean said the victim was confirmed dead at the scene by health personnel and the case was handed over to the police.

He added that the operation ended at 8.44pm. – Bernama
