Man arrested for allegedly stabbing father to death in Cheras

KUALA LUMPUR: Police have arrested a man after he allegedly stabbed his father to death.

In a statement on Saturday, Cheras deputy OCPD Supt Ridzuan Khalid said that a report on the murder was received at around 3.01am on Saturday (Sept 13).

"The victim, aged 62, was found on the ground in the living room of a home in Bandar Permaisuri.

"Following that, the police arrested a 24-year-old man to assist investigations. The case is being investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code. He has since been remanded until Sept 19," he said.

According to Supt Ridzuan, preliminary investigations showed that the motive behind the murder was due to the suspect not being happy with matters pertaining to the family's assets.

He added that a post-mortem of the victim will be conducted.
