Dewan Negara passes motion on 13MP

KUALA LUMPUR: The Dewan Negara on Wednesday (Sept 3) passed the motion on the 13th Malaysia Plan (13MP).

Its president Datuk Awang Bemee Awang Ali Basah said that the motion was passed with a majority of senators voting in favour.

The 13MP motion was debated over four days, from Aug 25 to 28, followed by a two-day ministerial winding-up session, which concluded on Wednesday.

The session on Wednesday saw 15 more ministries delivering their winding-up speeches, including the Ministry of Communications, the Ministry of Health, and the Ministry of Economy.

On July 31, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, who is also the Finance Minister, tabled the 13MP, aimed at redesigning the nation’s trajectory through technological leadership, inclusive growth, and public sector reform.
