Dewan Rakyat shown colourful vapes allegedly designed to attract minors

KUALA LUMPUR: Vapes of various sizes, shapes and colours were displayed in the Dewan Rakyat when Health Parliamentary Special Select Committee chief Suhaizan Kaiat briefed the House on the dangers of vape and underage smoking.

"The devices are manufactured in various shapes such as pen USB, children’s toys and colour pencils to attract minors and mislead enforcement authorities," he told the House during a Parliamentary Special Select Committee briefing on Wednesday (Aug 27).

Suhaizan showed three different types of vape, including disposable ones.

"They have various colours. There is one in pink which will attract kids and there is one in the shape of a pen," he said.

Suhaizan said manufacturers would get more innovative with time.
