ALOR SETAR: The Alor Setar High Court has found Home Minister Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail guilty of defaming Kedah Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Muhammad Sanusi Md Nor in 2023.
The defamation claim is related to allegations that Sanusi had stolen rare earth elements (REE) and misappropriated funds allocated for the Malaysian Road Records Information System (MARRIS).
Following the decision, Judge Dr John Lee Kien How @ Mohamad Johan Lee ordered Saifuddin to pay general damages of RM600,000 and costs of RM70,000 to Sanusi.
