Three killed in crashes en route to bikers gathering


KUANTAN: Three motorcyclists – one of them a woman – were killed while travelling to a gathe­ring of motorcycle enthusiasts in Terengganu.

In the first incident, bank sales executive Mohd Syukri Shah­rudin, 33, skidded and crashed on Jalan Palong 8 here at 6.30am yesterday. He was travelling from Rembau in Negri Sembilan to Terengganu for the RXZ Members 7.0 gathe­ring tomorrow.

“The victim was supposed to turn right at a T-junction, but went straight and ran into a slope on the road shoulder. He sustained severe injuries to his head and hands,” said Bera police chief Supt Zulkiflee Nazi.

In Kuala Berang, nurse Roslina­wati Ramli, 33, died at the scene when the bike she was riding skidded at KM394 of the East Coast Expressway 2.

Roslinawati, from Felda Tementi, Triang in Pahang, had left Simpang Renggam in Johor at about 1am before the accident occurred at about noon.

She was travelling in a convoy with 13 other motorcycles.

Hulu Terengganu district police chief Supt Abdul Wahab said she died due to cranial injuries.

In Dungun, Terengganu, Hariz Fahmi Shaizuren Amin, 29, from Seri Kembangan, Selangor, also died at the scene after he grazed another motorcycle at KM3 of the LPT2, near the Bukit Besi Rest and Recreation stop. He was also on his way to the RXZ Members 7.0 2025 with several others.

Police have urged programme participants to exercise greater caution and ride safely to prevent any untoward incidents, Bernama reported.
