Sabah cops probing viral video of animal abuse at Kudat PPRT


KOTA KINABALU: Authorities are investigating allegations of animal abuse at the Taman Ehsan hardcore poor housing programme (PPRT) in Kudat.

Videos have gone viral showing a group of young boys hurling rocks at a litter of puppies by the staircase while laughing, and another showing a person swinging a newborn puppy which he tied up before throwing it towards the group.

Animal groups as well as social media users are calling the actions inhumane and want the police as well as Sabah Department of Veterinary Services (DVS) to take action.

Sabah DVS director Dr Mary Golingai said they were investigating the matter.

It is learnt that Kudat police are also already on the case.
