Zara Qairina probe: Not getting an autopsy was against police protocol, says CID director

KUALA LUMPUR: Not getting an autopsy done following Zara Qairina Mahathir's death was against protocol, says Bukit Aman.

Federal Criminal Investigation Department (CID) director Comm Datuk M. Kumar said that an internal investigation will be conducted on the investigation officer and supervisor.

“Despite there is an agreement with the victim's mother, who signed a document for a post-mortem not to be done, the investigating officer should have insisted on a post-mortem being done as her death was under suspicious circumstances.

"The lack of post-mortem is clearly against our SOP," he added at a special press conference on Wednesday (Aug 13) at Bukit Aman.
