Fadil Marsus is new KL police chief

KUALA LUMPUR: Comm Datuk Fadil Marsus officially takes over as the new KL police chief.

Comm Fadil, who was previously the Bukit Aman CID deputy director, takes over from Deputy Comm Datuk Mohamed Usuf Jan Mohamad, who held the post in an acting capacity.

The handing over ceremony, which was held at the KL police headquarters on Monday (Aug 11), was witnessed by Bukit Aman Commercial Crime Investigation Department (CCID) director Comm Datuk Rusdi Mohd Isa.

"I am sure with his vast experience, Comm Fadil will be able to lead the KL police contingent to new heights.

"He is the right choice as he has good and credible leadership skills," Comm Rusdi said in his speech.

Comm Rusdi said the police’s role as law enforcers is becoming more challenging.

"Focus on preserving public order and peace by giving your best.

"I hope all KL police officers and personnel will give their full cooperation to Comm Fadil," he added.
