M. Kumar officially takes over as Bukit Aman CID director

KUALA LUMPUR: Comm Datuk M. Kumar has officially taken over as the new Bukit Aman Criminal Investigations Department director.

He officially took over on Friday after a handover ceremony in Bukit Aman between him and acting director Deputy Comm Datuk Fadil Marsus.

In his speech, Inspector-General of Police Datuk Seri Mohd Khalid Ismail said that Comm Kumar's appointment was an appropriate one based on his experience.

"The challenges of security come in many forms now, including modern crimes using artificial intelligence. To face such threats, the CID must adapt their ways based on current technology levels as well as improve upon digital forensics to increase the quality of investigations.

"The levels of cooperation between our counterparts in the region and overseas must also be increased to ensure quality, high-impact investigations," he said.

He also urged all within the department to give their full cooperation to Comm Kumar and thanked DCP Fadil for his tenure as acting director.
