GUA MUSANG: Water samples from Sungai Ketil have been sent to the Chemistry Department for testing after hundreds of fish were found dead in Rimba Wangi Recreational Park here recently.

The Environment Department's (DOE) Kelantan director Wan Aminordin Wan Kamarudin said they also issued orders to monitor the river immediately to ensure the mass fish deaths would not recur.

"We have received complaints about the incident in Sungai Ketil near Rimba Wangi Recreational Park and we are concerned.

"A complaint about dark water was resolved earlier, but now we have a fish kill case,” he said when contacted recently.

He added that the department was uncertain if the Fisheries Department has been informed to take samples of the fish to identify the cause of death. – Bernama
