GEORGE TOWN: Penang will continue to be developed as a business hub, says Investment, Trade and Industry Minister Tengku Datuk Seri Zafrul Abdul Aziz (pic).

Zafrul, who received the Darjah Panglima Pangkuan Negeri (DPPN) honour during the investiture ceremony for the 84th birthday celebration of Yang di-Pertua Negeri Tun Ramli Ngah Talib, also expressed gratitude to the state for the recognition.

"I thank Penang for its recognition.

"We will continue working to ensure Penang becomes an investment and commercial hub," he told reporters after the ceremony on Monday (July 28).

The DPPN award carries the Datuk Seri title.

The ceremony, which officially began on Saturday (July 26), is Ramli's first investiture ceremony since taking office as the ninth Penang Governor.

This year, 1,530 individuals will receive state awards, medals and honours.

A total of 150 individuals will be awarded state honours, while 1,380 will receive the Stars and Medals of Honour in recognition of their service and contribution.
