Two young sisters wander out of home by themselves in Seremban

SEREMBAN: Parents are being urged to closely supervise their children following an incident where two young sisters were found wandering near Garden Avenue.

Seremban OCPD Asst Comm Mohamad Hatta Che Din reported that the girls, from a Myanmar family, had left their home while their father slept and their mother was at work.

"We would like to thank the public for calling us after they came across the two young sisters on their own in the area. A patrol car was immediately sent to the area and the girls were brought back to the station for their safety and for identification purposes," he said in a statement.

Earlier, a 12-second clip went viral, with some netizens alleging that the parents had abandoned the children. However, ACP Mohamad Hatta clarified that a physical check on the children revealed no injuries.

"A short while later, we managed to trace their parents. After establishing the fact that the children walked out of their home on their own, we returned them to their parents," he said, adding that parents should ensure doors are locked to prevent such incidents.

The police have advised parents to be vigilant and make necessary arrangements to prevent young children from leaving home unsupervised.
