Two boys drowned after falling in drain in Shah Alam


SHAH ALAM: Two boys were found drowned after falling into a drain near Jalan Cili Merah 24/26, Seksyen 24, near here.

According to Sinar Harian, the two children - Che Syazwan Irwan Shah, 12 and Arshidayan Arijanto, nine - were declared dead at the scene by a medical officer on Friday (July 18).

Selangor Fire and Rescue Department assistant director Ahmad Mukhlis Mukhtar said that a distress call was made at 7.19pm.

"Six firefighters were dispatched to the scene.

"Upon arriving, we discovered that the two boys who were believed to have fallen into the drain," he said in a statement on Friday.

Both of them had been found unconscious before they were declared deceased, he said.

Their bodies were handed over to police for further action.
