Roads to be closed for Asean meet

PETALING JAYA: The MEX Highway, Jalan Tun Abdul Razak, Jalan Ampang, Jalan Bukit Bintang and Persiaran KLCC are among roads that will be hit by rolling closures starting July 8 to 11.

Bukit Aman Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Department director Comm Datuk Seri Mohd Yusri Hassan Basri said these rolling closures are due to the upcoming 58th Asean Foreign Ministers’ Meeting and Related Meetings.

Also affected are Jalan P. Ramlee and Lebuhraya KLIA, as well as other roads leading to the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre where the meetings are scheduled to take place.

“The (department) will perform road blocks in stages at three highways and 15 main roads around the Klang Valley.

“A dry run for the motorcade will involve roads from the airports to the respective hotels in Kuala Lumpur and to the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre will be conducted between July 4 to July 6.

“This will involve around 391 traffic policemen and officers,” he said.
