Woman, boyfriend detained over teen daughter's rape

AMPANG: A 61-year-old man and his 36-year-old girlfriend have been detained in connection with the rape and attempted rape of the woman's teenage daughter.

Ampang Jaya OCPD Asst Comm Mohd Azam Ismail said initial investigations revealed that the man raped the 13-year-old victim last year while her mother witnessed the act.

"Recently, she overheard a conversation between the two suspects about meeting at a hotel so that the man could rape her again, with her mother's consent. The victim then left her home and lodged a police report," he said when contacted on Sunday (June 29).

Both suspects were detained in Pandan Indah at about 6.30pm last Friday (June 27).

"The mother works as a security guard while the male suspect is a businessman.

They have been remanded until July 4," he added.
