King expresses hope that Asean stands united


PETALING JAYA: His Majesty Sultan Ibrahim, King of Malaysia, hopes Asean members will stand united in building an inclusive, resilient, and visionary future.

His Majesty noted that the 46th Asean Summit, the 2nd Asean-Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Summit, and the Asean-GCC-China Summit occur amidst global challenges.

"Malaysia is extremely pleased to host these important summits, reflecting a joint commitment to advancing peace, prosperity, and partnership in the region and beyond," Sultan Ibrahim said in a Facebook post on Tuesday (May 27).

He expressed this during the Royal Address at a Royal Dinner at Istana Negara, marking the 46th ASEAN Summit and the 2nd Asean-GCC and Asean-GCC-China Summits.

Present were Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, Asean leaders, and leaders from GCC countries, China, and Timor-Leste.

The 46th Asean Summit began on Monday (May 26), alongside the Asean-GCC Summit and the first Asean-GCC-China Summit.
