PETALING JAYA: Like the saying goes, ' happy wife, happy life’, proved to be profitable for a general practitioner (GP) from Penang after he won RM11.77mil from the RM12mil Toto 4D Jackpot on March 29.
The winnings came about after the 53-year-old GP and his wife celebrated their wedding anniversary.
His pair of winning numbers - ‘4486 & 5704’ was derived from a candlelight dinner's receipt number when he celebrated their wedding anniversary.
"These pretty numbers caught my attention after I paid my bill for our candlelight dinner.
"I truly understand now why the Cantonese has a saying that if you love your wife, you will become rich," he told the STM Lottery Sdn. Bhd on Thursday (April 10)
The doctor collected his winnings with his wife and was thankful towards STM Lottery for the amazing anniversary present.
He bought a System 3 ticket, which won him RM11,768,682.70 and another RM336 as a System Play bonus.
He said he would share the winnings with his siblings and save the balance for his children's future expenses.
The remaining jackpot, totaling RM219,975.30 was won by an i-System winner from Sarawak.
