Subang Jaya inferno: Over 200 premises destroyed or damaged, says Selangor Bomba

PETALING JAYA:Over 200 houses and commercial properties were destroyed or damaged by the gas pipeline fire at Putra Heights, says Selangor Fire and Rescue director Wan Md Razali Wan Ismail.

He said the fire was brought under control at 1.30pm and was fully extinguished at 3.45pm on Tuesday (April 1).

He said the two main locations affected by the inferno were Kampung Kuala Sungai Baru and Taman Putra Permai, with 87 houses and shophouses razed while 148 others were damaged.

Wan Md Razali also said 225 cars, motorcycles, buses, vans and lorries were destroyed and another 174 vehicles were damaged by the blaze.

He added that 71 people were admitted at government hospitals in Cyberjaya, Putrajaya, Kajang, Kuala Lumpur and Serdang while 43 others were warded at a private hospital in Sunway.
