MetMalaysia issues thunderstorm warning for KL and five states


KUALA LUMPUR: Thunderstorms, heavy rain, and strong winds are expected in five states, with a warning in effect until 5pm on Tuesday (March 25).

This warning was issued by the Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) on their Facebook page on Tuesday.

In Pahang, areas such as Bentong and Temerloh are on alert.

In Selangor, districts including Hulu Selangor, Gombak, and Petaling should prepare for severe weather, as well as Kuala Lumpur.

In Negeri Sembilan, Seremban is forecasted to experience adverse conditions.

In Johor, Tangkak, Muar, and Batu Pahat are expected to be affected.

In Sarawak, the region of Limbang is also under the thunderstorm warning.

This warning is issued when thunderstorms with rainfall intensity exceeding 20mm per hour are imminent or expected to persist for more than an hour.

These are short-term warnings, valid for no more than six hours from issuance.
