Two hurt after water truck crashes into houses, car in Pahang


KUANTAN: The driver and attendant of a Pengurusan Air Pahang Berhad (PAIP) water tanker truck were injured after the vehicle skidded and crashed into two houses and a car in Taman Kenanga, Raub on Saturday (March 22).

According to Pahang Fire and Rescue Department public relations officer Zulfadli Zakaria, a resident who was home at the time is safe and did not suffer any injuries, reported Sinar Harian.

He added that an emergency call regarding the incident was received at 12.41pm.

"Following the information we received, six officers from the Raub Fire and Rescue Station were deployed to the location for rescue operations.

"Upon arrival at the location, it was found that an accident did occur, while the two injured victims had been removed by members of the public before the firefighters arrived," Zulfadli said.

Both victims were later sent to the hospital for medical treatment.

Meanwhile, in a separate incident, a woman was injured while three others including a child were safe after the multi-purpose vehicle (MPV) they were in crashed and flipped over at KM102 of the East Coast Expressway 1 (LPT1) heading eastwards in Temerloh.

Zulfadli said in the accident which was reported at 11.22am, the injured victim was stuck in the vehicle while the other victims successfully escaped by themselves from the MPV.

"Seven officers from the Mentakab fire station immediately assisted in removing the stuck victim using specialised tools.

"The victim received preliminary treatment before being handed over to medical professionals for further action," he said.
