Two students killed after motorcycle hits pothole in Kluang


KLUANG: Two secondary school students were killed after their motorcycle hit a pothole here on Friday (March 21) morning.

Kluang OCPD Asst Comm Bahrin Mohd Noh said the teenagers, aged 16 and 17, struck the pothole at 8.20am.

“Preliminary investigation showed that the incident happened when they struck a pothole while riding a motorcycle along Jalan Sengkang-Felda Inas-Bandar Tenggara.

“This led the motorcycle to skid, causing the victims to fall onto the road,” he said in a statement.

ACP Bahrin said both victims died at the scene after sustaining serious head and body injuries.

He said the case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
