Man survives after iron rod pierces face


PETALING JAYA: A 56-year-old man narrowly escaped death after an iron rod pierced his face during a motorcycle accident in Sik, Kedah.

Azlan Mahmood was seriously injured when the motorcycle he was riding skidded and crashed on Jalan Jeneri, at Kampung Bukit Hangus, on the morning of March 15, Sinar Harian reported.

Sik Fire and Rescue Station (BBP) chief Assistant Fire Supt Mohd Jamil Mat Daud said personnel were dispatched to the scene after an emergency call.

“Upon arrival, the firefighters found the victim seriously injured with an iron rod penetrating the side of his face up to his head.

“First aid was given before the victim was taken to Hospital Sik by a Yayasan Jariah Malaysia ambulance,” he said.
