Monsoon surge to bring continuous rain and strong winds, says MetMalaysia

KUALA LUMPUR: The latest weather forecast models indicate that a monsoon surge is expected to enter the region from Mar 17 to 21, says the Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia).

This condition may cause continuous rainfall in Sarawak, Sabah, WP Labuan, and the southern Peninsula, alongside strong winds and rough seas in the South China Sea during this period.

In a statement, MetMalaysia issued a Continuous Rain Warning (Alert) for Sarawak, effective from Mar 18 to 20.

Additionally, a Strong Wind and Rough Seas Warning is in effect from Mar 18 to 21, for the South China Sea waters.

The statement then went on to advise the public to regularly check the MetMalaysia's website at www.met.gov.my, follow their official social media channels, and download the myCuaca app for the latest and most accurate information.
