Six factories, warehouse at Puchong Industrial Park damaged in fire


KUALA LUMPUR: Six factories and a warehouse at the Puchong Industrial Park, Selangor, were damaged in a fire Friday morning.

Selangor Fire and Rescue Department Assistant Director (Operations) Ahmad Mukhlis Mokhtar said a team from the Puchong Fire and Rescue Station was the first to arrive at the scene after receiving a distress call at 11.40am.

He said the fire damaged two steel factories while the others included a food processing factory, a compressor factory and a welding factory.

No casualties were reported and the cause of the fire is still under investigation, he said in a statement on Friday (March 14).

He said a total of 42 officers and firefighters from the Puchong, Subang Jaya, Cyberjaya, Jalan Penchala, Petaling Jaya, Damansara and Sri Kembangan fire and rescue stations were involved in the firefighting operation. - Bernama
