PM Anwar commemorates Women's Day with heartfelt tribute to his mother and wife

KUALA LUMPUR: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim extends his wishes to all women in celebration of International Women's Day 2025.

He shares a family photo featuring his mother, wife, and himself, noting their significance in his life.

"My late mother Che Yan Hamid Hussein and beloved wife Azizah (Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail).

"They are my backbone, a source of strength in demanding justice and continuing the struggle for the sake of the people," he states on his official pages on Saturday (March 8).

Anwar highlights that, on Women's Day, "we celebrate the courage, sacrifice, and extraordinary role of women in shaping a more just and prosperous society."

"We will continue to fight for the rights and dignity of women, ensuring that they are given equal space and opportunities in all aspects of life," he adds.
