KOTA KINABALU: Curiosity almost killed the cat! A mischievous feline named Cholos found itself in a tight spot—literally—after getting stuck in a metal-grilled window at a house in Taman Mesra, Sandakan.
According to the cat’s owner, the adventurous cat had wandered off in the morning, probably on one of its usual escapades. After it returned home, Cholos somehow ended up wedged in the narrow gaps of the window grille, unable to free itself.
Its owner, worried when the cat didn’t return, went searching—only to find Cholos awkwardly trapped, staring back helplessly. With no way to get the stubborn feline out, the owner called the Sandakan Civil Defence Force (APM) at 9.45am for help.
A total of five APM personnel were deployed to the scene. The rescue team arrived swiftly and, after a careful 40-minute operation, managed to free Cholos. Despite being stuck for almost an hour, the cat was unharmed.
Thanks to the quick action of the APM team, Cholos is now safe and sound. Whether it has learned its lesson, however, remains to be seen!
