Mohamed Khaled, Saifuddin Nasution convey condolences to Ishsam's family


KUALA LUMPUR: Umno vice-president Datuk Seri Mohamed Khaled Nordin has expressed his condolences to the family of Ayer Kuning assemblyman Ishsam Shahruddin, who died on Saturday (Feb 22).

He described Ishsam’s passing as a significant loss not only to the people of Ayer Kuning and Perak but also to Umno and Barisan Nasional.

"I pray that his family be granted strength and patience to face this difficult time. Let us pray that he is placed among the righteous,” said Mohamed Khaled, who is also Defence Minister, in a Facebook post on Sunday (Feb 23).

According to Bernama, Pakatan Harapan secretary-general Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail also conveyed his condolences to Ishsam’s family, friends and the people of Ayer Kuning.

"May his soul be blessed and placed among the faithful,” the Home Minister wrote on Facebook.

Ishsam, 59, died of a heart attack after participating in a football tournament in Penang.

His remains were buried at the Rapat Setia Muslim Cemetery in Ipoh, Perak.
