Unity and integrity key to elevating M’sia as a strong nation, says PM

KUALA SELANGOR: The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) must enforce strict measures to prevent financial mismanagement, particularly in government projects, says Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.

“MACC must be firm in issuing warnings to ensure funds are not lost. A project costing RM77mil should not see RM10mil disappear.

“This is a reminder for PR1MA, the Housing and Local Government Ministry and municipal councils - we must remain vigilant.

“If we want to elevate Malaysia as a great nation, we must be united and uphold integrity,” the Prime Minister said in his speech at the groundbreaking ceremony of the Residensi Rakyat Programme (PRR) in Bestari Jaya here on Saturday (Feb 15).

On a separate matter, Anwar highlighted global instability, citing tensions between China and the West, the ongoing Russia-Ukraine war and the devastation in Gaza.

He stressed the need for Malaysia to adopt a different approach, focusing on peace and economic strength.

“We must learn from these situations. We cannot follow such paths. We need stability and strength.

“Those in business should be allowed to trade, those working in plantations must maintain discipline and officers must carry out their duties with excellence. I believe we can achieve this,” he added.
