Johor cops investigating those involved in causeway brawl


JOHOR BARU: Police are calling up the individuals involved in the brawl at the Johor Causeway to help with investigations.

Johor Baru South OCPD Asst Comm Raub Selamat said police were notified about the incident after a video of the fight went viral on social media on Friday (Feb 14).

“We are actively investigating the incident to identify those involved, locate witnesses, and determine the cause of the altercation,” he said in a statement here on Saturday (Feb 15).

He added that members of the public with any relevant information are urged to contact the police hotline at 07-2182323 to assist in the investigation.

Earlier, a one-minute video was uploaded by a Facebook user under the name "Fandyjunas" showing two men fighting on a busy road.

The video, recorded by a lorry driver, shows the men stopping their MPV on the road before getting into a verbal altercation which ended up with a physical fight. Other road users can also be seen stepping in to break up the fight.

At the time of writing, the video has gained more than 3.3 million views.
