‘Crash victim who died was fleeing husband’


PETALING JAYA: A female factory worker, who died in an accident in Kampung Pengkalan, Melaka was believed to have been involved in an argument with her husband before being pursued by him on another motorcycle.

Alor Gajah OCPD Supt Ashari Abu Samah said preliminary investigations indicated that Nur Erdiyanah Samsul Maarif, 27, had a dispute with her husband before the incident, which occurred at 12.45am Wednesday.

“While on her way home, the victim’s husband followed her from behind, prompting her to speed up in an attempt to escape.

“However, she lost control of her motorcycle and crashed,” he was quoted as saying in a Sinar Harian report yesterday.

“Investigations are still ongoing, and the police will summon the victim’s husband for questioning, while also identifying witnesses.”Earlier, the daily reported that the victim died from head injuries after crashing into a stone wall near Datuk Seri Mohd Zin Vocational College.

Supt Ashari added that at the time of the crash, the victim was believed to be on her way home from Melaka Pindah towards Jalan Kasa Height.
