Woman pleads not guilty to assaulting husband with mobile phone


SEREMBAN: A 39-year-old woman claimed trial at the Sessions Court here to a charge of causing injury to her husband with a mobile phone.

Mas Suri Abdul Rahman pleaded not guilty after the charge was read to her before judge Surita Budin on Tuesday (Feb 4).

She was charged with causing injury to her 39-year-old husband with an iPhone 13 Pro Max.

The offence was allegedly committed around 1.30pm on Feb 1 at a house in Nilai.

Mas Suri was charged with voluntarily causing hurt under Section 324 of the Penal Code read together with Section 326A of the same legislation, which carries a jail term of up to 10 years or whipping or a fine, or any of the two punishments upon conviction.

Surita then set bail at RM7,000 with one surety and fixed Feb 18 for remention.

Norazihah Asmuni prosecuted while the accused was unrepresented.
