SIRIM QAS International, a wholly-owned subsidiary of SIRIM Berhad, has announced the appointment of Md Adha Rahmat as its acting chief executive officer.
This follows the retirement of Nur Fadhilah Muhammad, who served as chief executive officer until Jan 28, 2025.
At 54 years old, Md Adha brings more than 25 years of expertise in certification, inspection, and quality management, earning him a reputation as a trusted and capable leader within SIRIM QAS.
Throughout his career, he has played a key role in driving the organisation’s growth, both locally and internationally.
Before his appointment, he served as senior general manager of the management system certification department, where he spearheaded several transformative initiatives.
Notably, he led the integration of digitalisation into SIRIM QAS’s processes, enhancing efficiency and improving customer service.
He was also instrumental in the successful development and implementation of the SIRIM 55 ESG Management System Certification – a flagship program designed to help businesses align with global sustainability and environmental, social, and governance (ESG) standards.
Md Adha holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Arizona, in the US.
Over the course of his distinguished career, he has held various leadership roles within SIRIM QAS, overseeing operations and ensuring compliance with national and international standards.
His strategic vision and commitment to innovation have consistently driven the organisation to expand its services, improve performance, and remain a trusted name in testing, inspection, and certification.
As acting chief executive officer, he is set to continue championing digital transformation and innovation across the organisation.
His forward-looking approach will ensure SIRIM QAS stays at the forefront of the industry, ready to adapt to emerging trends and strengthen its position as a global leader.
