Woman files second police report claiming teacher hit her son

IPOH: Kerian police received a police report in December 2024 about a primary school boy who sustained injuries after allegedly being hit by a teacher, but the complainant withdrew it a day later.

Kerian OCPD Supt Juna Yusoff however said police came across an article posted on social media on Thursday (Jan 23) about the incident that allegedly took place at a school in Bagan Serai.

He said that on Dec 10, police received a report from the victim's 40-year-old mother.

"She claimed that her son sustained injuries after being hit by a 30-year-old male teacher.

"However on Dec 11, the complainant withdrew the police report and chose not to pursue the case further," he said in a statement on Thursday (Jan 23).

However, Supt Juna said the complainant filed another police report, requesting the authorities to continue the investigation and take further action against the teacher.

He said the case has been classified under Section 323 of the Penal Code, and the investigation paper into the case has been referred to the deputy public prosecutor's officer for further instructions.
