King tucks into chicken chop at famed JB eatery


JOHOR BARU: His Majesty Sultan Ibrahim, King of Malaysia, enjoyed some delectable chicken chop at a popular restaurant in the heart of the city here.

His Majesty made a stop at the 79-year-old Hua Mui restaurant for breakfast on Thursday (Jan 23).

According to a post on his Facebook page, Jan 23 also marks the anniversary of Sultan Ibrahim ascending to the Johor throne in 2010.

His Majesty's arrival at the restaurant, located in Jalan Trus, in a yellow luxury vehicle captured the attention of the public, who also grabbed the opportunity to snap photos with him.

He enjoyed a Hainanese chicken chop, one of the popular dishes at the restaurant.

Sultan Ibrahim was accompanied by Johor police chief Comm Datuk M. Kumar.

The outlet operates from a double storey pre-World War II shop and is popular among Malaysians and tourists.
