Car crash turns into seafood grabfest on overturned lorry

MERSING: Dozens of onlookers flocked to an overturned lorry, vying for its seafood cargo strewn on the roadside.

Photos and videos of people picking up the fish and shrimp that spilt from the lorry quickly went viral on social media, gathering all kinds of reactions.

Kota Tinggi OCPD Supt Yusof Othman said all the seafood have been scooped up by the time police arrived at the scene.

“The accident happened at about 9.20am on Wednesday (Jan 22) and was believed to have occurred when two cars collided, causing one of them to veer into the opposite lane.

“The car then collided with the lorry, which was travelling from Mersing to Johor. The impact caused the lorry to overturn onto the left side of the road,” he said.

He added that no injuries were reported, and summonses were issued to those involved in the crash.
