Two lives lost in separate Negri Sembilan road accidents

SEREMBAN: A 17-year-old male teenager died when his motorcycle collided with a car at KM 8, Jalan Bahau-Kemayan, in Jempol, on Sunday morning.

Jempol police chief, Supt Hoo Chang Hook, said that the 2.30am incident involved a motorcycle, ridden by the unemployed victim, and a car.

The car, driven by a 30-year-old man with a 16-year-old male passenger, was travelling from Mahsan to Felda Raja Alias 2 when the collision occurred.

"Upon reaching the scene, while driving uphill, the motorcycle ridden by the victim lost control, and veered into the opposite lane, resulting in a head-on collision with a car.

"The motorcyclist suffered severe head and leg injuries, and was pronounced dead at the scene following the accident,” he said, in a statement, on Sunday (Jan 19).

The driver of the car suffered minor injuries to his face and hands, while the passenger escaped unhurt.

Meanwhile, in a separate incident, Nilai police chief, Supt Abdul Malik Hasim, said that a 35-year-old woman was pronounced dead at the scene following a car accident involving a trailer. The accident occurred at 4.20am on Sunday, at KM 282.9 of the North-South Expressway, southbound, heading toward Melaka.

Supt Abdul Malik said that initial investigations revealed that the trailer, driven by a 34-year-old man from Port Klang, and heading toward Melaka without cargo, had broken down and stopped in the far-left lane.

"A 40-year-old man driving a car collided in the rear-right side of the trailer at the location. The driver sustained severe head injuries in the accident.

"The female passenger also suffered severe head and bodily injuries, and was pronounced dead at the scene," he added. - Bernama
