Storm warning: Thunderstorms, heavy rain expected over nine states, two FTs until 7pm


PETALING JAYA: Thunderstorms, heavy rain and strong winds are expected over parts of nine states and the Federal Territories of Kuala Lumpur and Putrajaya until 7pm Saturday (Jan 18).

In an advisory issued by the Meteorological Department at S.40pm Saturday, it said the areas affected include Kedah (Baling), Perak (Manjung, Kinta, Perak Tengah, Kampar, Bagan Datuk, Hilir Perak, Batang Padang and Muallim), Terengganu (Besut and Setiu), Pahang (Bentong, Bera, and Rompin), Selangor, Negri Sembilan, Melaka and Johor (Tangkak, Segamat, Muar and Batu Pahat).

In Sarawak, the area affected is Miri (Subis).

Malaysia is currently experiencing the Northeast Monsoon.
