Car loses control, crashes into pedestrian on Causeway

JOHOR BARU: A 24-year-old man was hospitalised after being hit while walking on the Causeway here by a car that skidded in heavy rain.

Johor Baru South OCPD Asst Comm Raub Selamat said the incident occurred at about 5.38pm on Sunday (Jan 12).

"The driver lost control of the vehicle in the rain, causing the car to skid and hit a road divider before crashing into the pedestrian.

He said that the case has been classified under Regulation 10 of the Road Traffic Rules 1959, and investigations are ongoing.

"We advise road users to exercise caution while driving, especially during bad weather.

"Anyone with information about the incident could channel them to the Johor Baru South headquarters," he said.
