Najib's supporters celebrate appeals court's decision

PUTRAJAYA: Supporters of Datuk Seri Najib Razak welcome the Court of Appeal’s decision to allow the former premier to initiate a judicial review over the sentence imposed on him in the SRC International Sdn Bhd trial.

Umno Youth chief Dr Akmal Saleh, when exiting the Palace of Justice, greeted an excited crowd that was heard chanting “Hidup Bossku”, in reference to Najib’s moniker.

“Daulat Tuanku,” Akmal cheered several times alongside Najib supporters.

Former Umno Supreme Council member Isham Jalil also said he was happy over the court decision.

“It was a 2-1 decision and I’m happy that the decision was on Najib’s side,” said Isham.

The police had said over 900 supporters were present at the court of appeal on Jan 6.
