Letter goes viral confirming existence of 'royal addendum' for Najib's pardon

KUALA LUMPUR: A letter bearing the letterhead of the Pahang Sultanate Council has gone viral on social media on Monday (Jan 4).

The letter, which was signed by Comptroller of the Pahang Sultan's Household Datuk Ahmad Khirrizal Ab Rahman, confirmed the existence of a royal addendum to Datuk Seri Najib Razak's royal pardon.

Sources from Istana Pahang have confirmed that the letter is authentic

The letter said the order was made by the 16th Yang di-Pertuan Agong, Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri'ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah, for Najib to serve out the remainder of his jail term under house arrest.

"Accordingly, through this letter, I am on behalf of the Sultan of Pahang as the then 16th Yang di-Pertuan Agong hereby certify that His Majesty's Order is real and authentic," the statement read.
