Senior citizen killed in Johor hotel parking lot car crash


JOHOR BARU: A 61-year-old woman was killed after her car crashed into a pillar in the parking area of a hotel in the city centre, here.

Johor Baru South OCPD Asst Comm Raub Selamat said the incident occurred last Thursday (Dec 26) at 8.45pm in the level three parking area.

“Preliminary investigations suggest that the victim, a 61-year-old woman, lost control of her vehicle before crashing into a pillar within the parking area.

“Tragically, she was pronounced dead at the scene,” he said in a statement here on Saturday (Dec 28).

ACP Raub added that it is understood that the victim had a history of diabetes, hypertension and high cholesterol.

The case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.

Police are appealing to members of the public who witnessed the incident to come forward and assist with the investigation.
