Man nabbed for puncturing car tyre in Iskandar Puteri


ISKANDAR PUTERI: Police have arrested a 43-year-old man over an incident of vandalism at a fast-food restaurant in Bukit Indah here.

Iskandar Puteri OCPD Asst Comm M. Kumarasan said they received a report from a 21-year-old woman about the 10pm incident on Friday (Dec 13) in which her car tyre was punctured.

“Based on information received, a team from the Criminal Investigation Department arrested the man at 9.45pm on Monday (Dec 16).

“Preliminary checks found that the suspect has six prior offences on his criminal record.

"He tested negative for drugs," he said in a statement on Tuesday (Dec 17).

ACP Kumarasan added that the suspect has been remanded until Friday (Dec 20) to help with investigations under Section 427 of the Penal Code for committing mischief.

He also advised the public to report any criminal incidents promptly to the nearest police station, or the Iskandar Puteri district control centre at 07-5113622, or the hotline at 07-5114486.

Earlier, dashcam video footage uploaded to the JB Talks 2.0 Facebook page showed a man in a black T-shirt walking near a vehicle before appearing to puncture one of its tyres.
