SEPANG: A 41-year-old male celebrity, who was detained for drug offences, has been remanded for five days.

Sepang OCPD Asst Comm Norhizam Bahaman said the suspect has been remanded until Thursday (Dec 19).

"He was brought to a Teluk Datok Magistrate's Court in Banting for the remand application.

"We will conduct further investigations into the matter," he said when contacted on Sunday (Dec 15).

ACP Norhizam said the police view drug offences seriously.

"We urge the cooperation of the public in giving information on drug related offences.

"We are going all out to combat drug trafficking and abuse," he said.

It was reported that the police raided the house of the male celebrity here and arrested for the drug possession.

ACP Norhizam had said the arrest was made in Cyberjaya at around 3.10pm on Saturday (Dec 14).

"A search of the house led to the discovery of two packets suspected to contain 60.3g of ganja.

"Urine tests on the suspect showed he was positive for THC," he said, adding that the man did not have a criminal record.
