Seven foreign women detained for suspected prostitution at hotel in Pudu

KUALA LUMPUR: Seven foreign women, believed to be prostitutes, were detained following a raid on a hotel at Jalan Pudu.

The raid was conducted by Kuala Lumpur CID anti-vice, gambling and secret societies division (D7) team led by Asst Supt Saifulazhar Abd Khodir at about 6.30pm on Friday (Nov 22) in an operation codenamed "Ops E-Noda"

Kuala Lumpur police chief Comm Datuk Rusdi Mohd Isa said seven foreign prostitutes were nabbed in the operation.

"Those detained were five Indonesian women, a Thai woman and a Vietnamese woman," he said when contacted on Saturday (Nov 23).

Several items were seized including 15 pieces of condoms, seven towels, 10 mobile phones and three lubricants, he said.

"The women detained admitted to being prostitutes.

"Customers had to go to a website to pick prostitutes before calling a number to book them.

"Customers will then be given a room number and payment is made to the prostitute after the sex services are rendered," he said.

Comm Rusdi said each customer is charged RM250 for sex.

"The prostitute will get RM120 while RM130 will be given to her pimp.

"All prostitutes lived in the hotel rooms," he added.

Each sex worker averaged about three customers daily, mainly consisting of locals, he said.

"They operated from 12am to 4am everyday.

"Those detained were brought to Dang Wangi police headquarters for further action and investigation," he said.
