Cops to investigate cat abuse incident at Old Klang Road condo


KUALA LUMPUR: A police report has been lodged concerning the abuse of a cat at a condominium in Old Klang Road.

A video of the alleged abuse, showing a man dragging a cat with a rope tied around its neck, has gone viral on social media.

"An individual who saw the video lodged a police report at about 5.26pm on Saturday (Nov 23)," Kuala Lumpur police chief Comm Datuk Rusdi Mohd Isa said in a statement on Saturday (Nov 23).

"The complainant also found the address of where the incident took place in the comment section of the video post," he said, adding that the case is classified under Section 29 of the Animal Welfare Act 2015.

"The police report and the video have been referred to the Kuala Lumpur Veterinary Department officers for further action," he added.
