Woman killed, son seriously hurt after being hit by train in Sabah


KOTA KINABALU: A mother was killed while her 11-year-old son sustained serious injuries after they were run over by a train at Petagas near here.

The woman, 41, was reported to have died on the spot while her son was taken to the hospital for emergency treatment.

It is learnt that both were crossing the railway track when they were hit by the train.

Sabah Fire and Rescue Department officials said they received an emergency call at 1.58pm and reached the scene at 2.20pm.

They assisted in removing the woman’s body from the tracks while the son was attended to by medical officials at the scene.
