Thunderstorms forecast in 11 states evening of Nov 14


PETALING JAYA: Thunderstorms, heavy rains and strong winds are forecast for 11 states, including Kuala Lumpur, Selangor, Putrajaya and Penang.

According to an advisory issued by the Meteorological Department at 2.40pm on Thursday (Nov 14), the entire states of Perlis and Johor will experience rain until 5pm.

Also affected are Selangor (Kuala Selangor, Hulu Selangor, Klang, Gombak, Petaling, Kuala Langat, Hulu Langat and Sepang), Kuala Lumpur, Putrajaya and Penang (North Seberang Prai, Central Seberang Prai and South Seberang Prai).

Other areas are Kedah (Langkawi, Kubang Pasu, Kota Setar, Pokok Sena, Padang Terap, Pendang, Sik, Baling, Kulim and Bandar Baharu), Perak (Hulu Perak, Kuala Kangsar, Kinta, Kampar, Batang Padang and Muallim), Pahang (Cameron Highlands, Jerantut, Kuantan, Pekan and Rompin), Terengganu (Hulu Terengganu, Dungun and Kemaman) and Negri Sembilan (Seremban and Port Dickson).

Rains is also expected in Sarawak in Sri Aman, Betong (Pusa and Betong), Bintulu (Bintulu and Sebauh) and Miri (Telang Usan, Miri and Marudi).

Malaysia is currently experiencing the Northeast Monsoon season.
