JOHOR BARU: Over 2,500 job opportunities from local and international companies are up for grabs at the myStarJob Fair at the Mid Valley Exhibition Centre here.

Organised by Star Media Group, the two-day fair this weekend serves as an all-in-one hiring platform specially curated for employers and job seekers.

The fair, which is being held in Johor for the first time, hosts over 20 companies from various industries and sectors, including engineering, sales and finance.

It also features a job-matching initiative, in which recruiters carry out on-the-spot interviews with job seekers.

Super Micro Computer Malaysia Sdn Bhd, which is looking to expand its workforce, is among the participating companies.

“We are open to accepting suitable candidates from any educational or career background to fill vacant positions in the company.

“All they have to do is bring their resume and visit our booth at the job fair.

“They stand a better chance of landing an interview if they come here, as we can speak to them face-to-face. In fact, they might even be interviewed on the spot,” senior human resources manager Venus Mok said, adding the company needs to fill the vacancies for technicians, engineers, production supervisors and positions at the finance department.

“Even if they do not secure a job immediately, we will keep their profiles in our database for future openings,” she said.

“One of the benefits of joining our company is a chance to receive training in Taiwan.”

For those seeking free training opportunities, the Securities Industry Development Corporation’s booth offers information about the investED programme, a collaboration with the Securities Commission, Finance Ministry and Higher Education Ministry.

Applicants can apply for the leadership programme, which includes a month of formal training and six months of on-the-job training. They may also opt for investED’s foundation programme, which offers free certification.
