Spurned lover stabs woman, her father to death, turns knife on himself


GEORGE TOWN: A spurned lover murdered a woman and her father in broad daylight here.

The 30-year-old woman and her 62-year-old father were stabbed to death outside the lift area of an apartment block in Ayer Itam around 1.15pm on Thursday (Nov 7).

The woman who worked at a hardware store was found sprawled alongside her dead father on the ground floor of their apartment block.

The 32-year-old man then tried to take his own life by stabbing himself.

He has been taken to the Penang Hospital for treatment.

The police and forensic team are currently gathering evidence and have transported the victims to the Penang Hospital Forensic Department for further investigation.
